District MTV is an international digital fashion and style platform for the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain. Targeted at style-savvy 18-34 year old, the site’s aim is to discover, explore and share the latest trends around the globe as well as draw on MTV’s huge music archive to explore the longstanding relationship between music and fashion. United Studios were awarded the pitch to design the full site for web and mobile.The brief asked Us to determine how it should look, how users would navigate, how content would be featured and how consumers interact with it. In response we created a super visual, minimalistic style; a flexible grid allowing for editorial freedom and full impact imagery, icons for tags that easily translate across a global audience and rollovers to find out more which allowed a less cluttered look and feel, creating and emphasising a look and feel that is visually strong, simple, clean and current in style.
